Okay, maybe I'll talk to you.

I Am a Bread Machine

No seriously. I've been pumping out bread all day. I have 6 loaves trying and a sponge good for another 2 or 3 more. It's crazy!

The past few days have been rather eventful. The only thing is that I've been really tired, so not quite in the mood to post. I still am ridiculously tired, speaking mostly incoherent things for the past two days, but I just don't have anything else to do. Let me recap the highlights of the past few days.

Wednesday was a strange one. After our Koine Greek final, Tom and I were taking the elevator down to the lobby. A familiar looking man saw me and asked if I was at Classics Day. It turns out his name is Chris, an advisor for the Humanities Department and such. He continued to talk to us for a good 15 minutes about how it's a great thing that we're majoring in classics, blah blah blah. Pretty much just preaching to the choir. And the thing is, he's such an interesting character, with a questionably homosexual lisp.

After this strange encounter, we were trying to recover by standing around awkwardly. Then, a thug-like fellow starts walking towards us. Early twenties, black t-shirt, unshaven, I expected him to ask for spare change. Instead, he said the following:
Excuse me. I just wanted to let you know that Jesus Christ loves you both very much and that he came to earth and died for your sins. I hope you have a nice day.
I was a little put off by this. Perhaps he was dared by one of his friends. So Tom and I were muttering to ourselves how we just came out of a New Testament final. He turned around and continued the conversation.
Isn't it amazing all the Old Testament prophecies regarding Jesus? Like the one in Zachariah [sic] about the Lord being sold for thirty pieces of silver, later given to the potter? Then we read in the gospels that Judas betrayed him for thirty pieces of silver and the money went to the potter, just like the prophesy. Isn't that just amazing?
Then he proceeded on his way, leaving Tom and me rather confused. He kept on looking for a third "sign," since we were having too many weird occurrences in one day. I noted that our final was the passage in Acts 9 about Saul's conversion, so that might have been it. Apparently we are doing the right thing by being converted and Jesus loves us very much.

Dot dot dot.

After meeting, Riddy and I went to find some food. We settled on In-N-Out, a usual place. As we were standing in line, I joked to him about eating two double-doubles, since we did it before. In usual Riddy style, he responded with an enthusiastic, "Let's do it!" After a minute, he decided to tack on fries to it, which I promptly denied. I just don't like purchasing fries. Thus, the contest was born.

As I was getting my water, I asked him if it was a timed contest or merely for the enjoyment. Enthusiastically, he said, "Let's do it for time!" The next few minutes were spent in preparation and excitement.

Through not much time, we had four double-doubles animal style and a heap of fries sitting in front of us. Riddy's fries were nearly a double portion, so we split that. With a stopwatch ready, we began.

The first burger went down in a minute and a half. I would say the slowest part was the fries, since they are tricky. By this point, Riddy was beating me slightly, but still enough to call it neck-in-neck.

It was the second burger where the spread came. We were both slowing down, but Riddy managed to polish it all off in 4:35. About halfway through the second burger, I had to force the food down. It was not wanting to be inside of me. I finished in 6:03. I did not feel that great for the rest of the night.

Thursday night was the last CSA meeting of the year. With a shortage of people present, I managed to get inducted as the "Historian," a newly made up office in charge of taking pictures and being the webmaster. It shall be an incredibly exciting year.

Friday after school, I decided to cook the tri-tip that had been sitting in the fridge for a few days. It was on sale, and ended up being amazing. I coated them both with garlic powder, seasoning salt, and black pepper, then roasted them in the oven. Utterly amazing. I opened some rolls, slapped some mayo on it, the sliced the meat on top, covering it with the gorgeous salsa I made. Brandon said it might have been the best sandwich he's ever had. Such a high honor from the sandwich connessour.

Today has been spent baking bread. I would like to say there's more, but that's been about it. I read a little. I've played a lot of piano too. That piano is really old, so the plastic key coverings don't like to hold up to my playing. I have several cuts on my fingers from them. I'm so hardcore.

I guess that's all I have to say.
